Tour Itinerary
Swastikas flying from the flagpoles, stormtroopers parading, bombs falling, people dying. This was the Munich of 60 years ago. It seems so distant and unimaginable to us now.
As Adolf Hitler´s adopted hometown, a city in which his name was famous before the rest of Germany had heard it spoken, his followers venerated Munich as their spiritual birthplace: where the Nazi movement was founded, took shape, and began its rise to absolute power.
In this tour we follow the footsteps of the Third Reich - from the unpromising origins of the Nazi party in the turbulent aftermath of the First World War to the infamous Munich Peace Agreement of 1938, a triumphant moment of Nazi aggression in Europe and a milestone on the road to the Second World War. Along the way, we visit the numerous remaining sites, most of which today no longer advertise their association with this dark era in the city´s history: the building where Hitler joined the party, the celebrated beerhall where he first launched himself upon the German public, the very spot where the famed “Beerhall Putsch” came to a bloody end.

RADIUS TOURS AND BIKES
About Radius Tours and Bikes:
Founded in 1988 and British/German owned, we are dedicated to providing high quality tours. Why else would Rick Steves choose us to provide his groups with guided tours in Munich if we weren't simply the best?
The RADIUS office (meeting point for all tours) is centrally located in Munich's central train station (Hauptbahnhof) near track 32.
We offer 4 different tours daily, running in summer a total of 8 tours a day. The most popular tour is that to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, where we are a officially recognised tour provider, followed by the ever popular ' tour to Neuschwanstein Castle (the 'Disney castle').
In addition to the city walking tours we have a large bicycle rental (also located in the train station) and from there we also offer guided bike tours (for pre-booked groups only) in and around Munich.
Our team of highly trained native-English speaking guides look forward to welcoming you onto their tours. |
